Slow Breathing
Today we're going to explore something transformative - the profound difference between rushing and slowing down. We'll use our breath as our guide to experience firsthand what happens in our body and mind when we consciously choose to pause.
Today's Practice: From Rush to Rest
Find a quiet spot and make yourself comfortable. This will only take a few minutes, but these minutes are just for you.Start by taking ten quick, shallow breaths - the kind you take when you're rushing to meet a deadline or hurrying through your day. Feel the scattered energy this creates in your body.
Now, let's shift gears completely.
Take a long, slow breath in through your nose, filling your belly with air. Hold it for a moment. Then release it through your mouth, making your exhale even longer than your inhale. Notice how your shoulders naturally begin to soften.
Continue these slow, intentional breaths for the next five minutes. With each exhale, let your body settle a little more. Notice how different you feel now - how this simple act of slowing down your breath can transform your entire state of being.
This is what it feels like to truly pause, to give yourself permission to slow down and just be.
