We often show kindness to others but forget to extend that same care to ourselves. Practicing self-compassion can help us build a more supportive relationship with ourselves. Today, we’ll take a moment to offer warmth and kindness inward.
Today's Practice: Speaking Kindly to Yourself
Find a quiet space where you feel safe. Sit or lie down, and place one or both hands gently over your heart. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, then exhale slowly through your mouth.Repeat the following phrases silently or out loud:
- May I be kind to myself.
- May I be patient with myself.
- May I accept myself as I am in this moment.
Sit with these affirmations for 5-10 minutes, letting their meaning sink into your heart. When you’re ready, take a deep breath and gently open your eyes.
How did it feel to offer yourself kindness? Self-compassion is a powerful way to nurture your inner world and remind yourself that you are worthy of care.
